FileMaker today announced special pricing on FileMaker Pro 5.5 for Mac OS X for people that will be buying Microsoft’s just released Office v. X.
“FileMaker Pro 5.5 for Mac OS X is a must-have database, especially for business users who need to leverage data between FileMaker Pro and Office v. X for Mac,” said Kevin Browne, general manager, Macintosh Business Unit at Microsoft Corp.
Word X, Excel X and Entourage integrate directly with FileMaker Pro 5.5 for Mac OS X in a number of ways: import data from Excel X for Mac into FileMaker Pro, for creating reports or for sharing over the Web by dragging and dropping an Excel X spreadsheet onto FileMaker Pro; use the Excel X File Menu or Get External Data command on Data Menu; drag a FileMaker Pro file from the Finder to Excel X; or use the Excel X Import Wizard to select the FileMaker Pro database records to import. Data can also be exchanged between FileMaker Pro 5.5, Word X and Entourage X for Mac, to create mailings or to send emails.
With proof of purchase for the Office v. X suite, FileMaker will give users a US$100 off the purchase of FileMaker 5.5, which normally costs $249. To qualify for the offer, you must purchase FileMaker 5.5 between November 1, 2001 and March 15, 2002 and of course, purchase Office v. X.
