Discreet’s newly acquired streaming software, Discreet cleaner 5.1 for both Mac and Windows platforms, is available for sale and as a free download to update all current cleaner 5 customers, at the product Web site.
Discreet cleaner is used to create streaming video for the Web through encoding and transcoding digital content or video formats. It lets media artists capture directly from a DV camera or video source, author interactive media with EventStreamtechnology, encode the highest-quality media in the most popular streaming formats, then publish streams directly to a streaming server.
Version 5.1 adds new support for Sorenson Video 3 Professional for high-quality QuickTime content, along with updated support for QuickTime 5; the latest Windows Media 8 codecs; and RealSystem 8.5.1 codecs. Sorenson Video is a QuickTime compatible video codec designed for developers of applications or Web sites that require compressed video segments.
Also, Discreet cleaner 5.1 builds on its commitment to the streaming market and growing its family of software solutions that allows its prosumer and professional customer base to create, manage and use digital content, according to Paul Lypaczewski, general manager, Discreet. What’s more, Discreet cleaner 5.1 will deliver 2-pass VBR support for Sorenson Video 3, faster encoding and improved MPEG output. The product has a suggested retail price of US$599.
