If you’re a system manager or network administrator with an interest in analyzing your network traffic using your Mac, you may be interested in a series of free seminars
WildPackets Inc. are sponsoring during January’s Macworld Expo in San Francisco, CA. WildPackets will host four free Mac OS X protocol analysis training sessions during the event — two sessions each day on January 9 and 10. WildPackets will hold the seminars at the Argent Hotel, nearby to the Moscone Center where the Expo itself is held.
EtherPeek is WildPackets’ packet analysis tool for the Macintosh. EtherPeek has been in active development for more than a decade. The training sessions WildPackets is offering have the intention of helping attendees design, implement and troubleshoot Mac OS X and AppleTalk network infrastructures — of course, utilizing EtherPeek to help make that happen. Attendees will be able to decipher the protocol behaviors that Macs exhibit in network environments and will learn about the core protocol functions of OS X and AppleTalk.
WildPackets also plans to use the Expo itself to show off their new Mac OS X version of EtherPeek. The company expects to ship EtherPeek for Mac OS X by the end of January. The new version supports Mac OS X’s Aqua interface and adds several major enhancements, according to WildPackets.
Macworld Expo happens from January 7 – 11, 2001 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. You can find WildPackets at booth 2517 in the South Hall.
