OpenOSX’s Gimp version 1.2.3p2 is now shipping. Gimp, or GNU Image Manipulation Program, is an open-source digital image editing program that’s sometimes likened to Adobe’s flagship Photoshop software.
The new release, offered on CD, installs and configures The Gimp with all of the programs and libraries required to run the software within Mac OS X’s Aqua interface. The developers indicate that it works on Mac OS X 10.0.x through 10.1.1.
The installer also provides complete documentation in PDF and HTML formats, tutorials, brushes, patterns, 600MB worth of plug-ins and a mirror of the official Gimp Web Site.
The Gimp CD costs US$30. Six month subscriptions are available for $80. The CD is also available bundled with OpenOSX’s Office CD. More info is available from their Web site.
