Buena Software, which offers tools for creating and editing audio and video on the Mac, has updated their free Diffusion Effect QuickTime plug-in to version 2.0.
The plug-in transforms an image to look like an impressionistic or pointillist painting. The update adds support for Mac OS X. Users can now apply the effect in the Mac OS X version of QuickTime Player Pro, or any other QuickTime application which supports QuickTime effects on Mac OS 8, Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, according to MacTech magazine.
Buena also has a new ApplyQuickTime Effect filter for Photoshop that lets you apply any QuickTime effect to any RGB image. The goal of the plug-in is to let you utilize the full potential of QuickTime video effects in the Adobe standard, according to the folks at Buena. A fully functional demo is available at their Web site.
