Evological has announced the release of CoolCam 2.1, a shareware Webcam application for the Macintosh. The new version adds features and fixes some problems, too.
CoolCam has been developed to run natively in Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, and it’ll run on any Power Mac, PowerBook, iMac or iBook. The software enables users to edit Webcam video with text captions, picture badges, clocks and blur items.
CoolCam 2.1 adds the ability to leave the FTP session open between uploads, thus removing the need for CoolCam to open a new session to the server each time. CoolCam 2.1 can also upload a temporary file and then rename it once the upload is complete.
The new build also fixes a problem that could cause images to be corrupted during upload under certain network conditions. Compatibility with some FTP servers has been improved, and several other bugs have been fixed.
CoolCam is distributed as US$20 shareware, and can be downloaded for a 15-day trial as well.
