The folks at CocoaTech, who specialize in the design and development of Mac OS X software, have updated SNAX, their file browser for Mac OS X, to version 1.1.7.
SNAX is a Finder replacement for Mac OS X, but with many more features. It was written entirely in Cocoa, exclusively for Mac OS X, according to Steve Gehrman, the utility’s creator. The program is designed “to eclipse Apple’s Finder in every way: ease of use, features, quality and performance,” he said.
Version 1.1.7 has been localized in Japanese, English, Italian, French, German and Swedish. Development of SNAX started soon after the announcement of Mac OS X. And version 1.1.8 is already in the works, Gehrman said.
SNAX 1.1.7, which requires Mac OS X 10.1 and higher, is available for immediate download and is fully functional. Registering SNAX for US$32 turns off a periodic “Please Purchase” dialog.
