A new version of Super Get Info is available from Bare Bones Software Super Get Info 1.0.5 is a file and folder info utility for Mac OS X, designed to serve as a replacement for the “Show Info” command of the X Finder. According to Rich Siegel, the founder, president and CEO of Bare Bones, Super Get Info lets you:
Version 1.0.5 adds a preference setting to change the keyboard shortcut used to invoke Super Get Info from within the Finder. Optional modifier keys can be added to the keystroke to provide a wider range of shortcut options and avoid conflicts with other utilities that provide keyboard shortcuts in the Finder.
Improvements to Super Get Info’s “Empty Trash” capabilities include the ability to choose the command directly from the Super Get Info Dock menu, as well a new preference setting to specify whether Super Get Info presents a warning dialog before emptying the Trash, according to Bare Bones.
Super Get Info requires Mac OS X 10.0 or later, and won’t run on any earlier version of the Mac OS. Mac OS X 10.1 or later is strongly recommended — and is, in fact, required for the Finder keyboard shortcut and Dock menu integration). All registered users of Super Get Info may upgrade to version 1.0.5 for free.
Super Get Info costs US$20 to purchase. A fully functional demo version that expires after 14 days is available from Bare Bones Software’s Web site. Super Get Info requires Mac OS X 10.0 or later.
