IDC Technologies has bought ID Four’s Bing Software Division. Bing’s product line includes PhonePro and MegaPhone, voice telephony programs.The company is also reportedly developing a new product line of advanced telephony software for distribution in major retail chain stores nationwide.
ID Four agreed to sell the Mac platform based technology division to IDC Technologies in a deal worth US$500,000. ID Four bought Bing Software in June 2000.
The deal is scheduled to close before the end of the year. IDC Technologies is a new technology company that plans to acquire smaller companies in the communications sector to create “a network of profitable subsidiaries along with research and development for advanced communications.”
MegaPhone is a screen-based telephone that incorporates a full-duplex speakerphone and digital answering machine. PhonePro is a telephony development software that uses an icon-based scripting interface. Each one of PhonePro’s icons represents an action or function, such as picking up the phone, dialing a number, recording or playing a sound.
