Apple today released an update for their recently announced Airport 2.0 software. Apple did not release specific features for the newest version, 2.0 v1.1, and a representative contacted by MacCentral was not available to comment.
When Apple released AirPort 2.0 a couple of weeks ago, the software updated the AirPort card installed on your computer to take advantage of 128-bit encrypted networks. The card gets updated automatically and you will not receive notification that the update took place. By updating the card, Apple has ensured that users can connect to Wi-Fi compatible networks running with 128-bit encryption enabled. The updated card also gives users support for Cisco LEAP.
A new AirPort admin utility was also part of AirPort 2.0. Version 2.0 v1.1 can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site.
