Master Key 2.0 is now available from MacinMind Software, featuring a better Mac OS X version, more options to take advantage of Macintosh Manager networks, better performance and a few refinements, according to Jay Lichtenauer of MacinMind.
Master Key is a typing tutor program developed with the REALbasic editing environment. It supports multiple users and groups; offers ubiquitous access to user files on an AppleShare network; and takes advantage of Macintosh Manager/Multiple-User preference model. Its two-tier password system can be turned on or off and typing drills can be paused.
Version 2.0 has a new user options subset of preferences that can optionally travel with user accounts in multiple-user environments. It has a new “remember last log-in option” (for Macintosh Manager and multiple users) and has been better optimized the speed of the keyboard animation, Lichtenauer said.
The new version of Master Key has automatic keyboard switching for Mac OS X 10.0.2 and higher and for all non-AppleScriptable keyboard control panels in earlier Mac OS versions. There are also other enhancements and bug fixes. Plus, a 68K-only build has been reintroduced. For details go to the product Web site.
