In its continuing quest to correct issues with the Mac release of Age of Empires II Gold Edition, Mac game publisher

has offered another update to the game. The new version, Age of Empires II Gold Edition, is ready for download from the Bold Web site.
Age of Empires II Gold Edition version 1.0.3 purports to correct the following issues:
Most multiplayer game synchronization issues.
Random crashes to the Finder, followed by a “Type 11” or “Type 2” error message in OS 8.6 and 9.x. (No error message in OS X.)
Crash when loading certain single-player saved games.
Disk partitions named “Data” conflicted with the game’s Data folder.
Cursor disappearing after certain dialog screens appear.
White text on a light background in a few places, replaced with black text for legibility.
The update is distributed as a 1.7MB file that extracts to an application that will update Age of Empires II to version 1.0.3.
Age of Empires II: Gold Edition was released in late October. It’s a new version of the real-time strategy game developed by Ensemble Studios which combines the original release, Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings, with The Conquerors Expansion, an add-on pack.
