Willow Designs, which makes a variety of carry cases for Mac hardware, is finishing its first run of the LapMac Portaprint Case, which is specifically designed for the Titanium or iBook plus a portable printers.
The US$132 case came out of many requests from portable printer Mac travelers, and others who are just carrying around a pile of gear they wanted centrally protected, according to Nigel Peck, Willow president.
Although the LapMac Portaprint is not included in the ongoing Willow Year End Sale, the company is extending its half price shipping for cases shipped by ground in Canada and the U.S. until Dec. 15 so LapMac is covered. Cases are expected to be ready for shipping by December 14.
The LapMac Portaprint Case is foam reinforced by corrugated plastic on the front, back and lid, and sports an eighth of an inch of hardboard on the bottom. Extra protection is afforded by cross directional corrugated plastic internal separation dividers. All your hardware components can be located in a padded compartment. In fact, there are up to five separate compartments for your Titanium or iBook, portable printer, adaptor and accessories. An outer front pocket organizer panel is designed for pens, pencils, checkbooks, etc. A zippered external front and back pocket which will fit a half inch of legal sized file folders or other gear each. ThePortaprint Case has a zippered flat front paper pocket and a flat pocket on the back suitable for maps, magazines or newspapers.
Its luggage feet are riveted through the hardboard bottom of the case and keep it up and off the ground when you want to set the display down. The Portaprint Case has a padded briefcase style handle with web anchors quadruple stitched and reinforced by a quadruple rivet through high density polyethylene underneath the fabric top panel. And it has a contoured, padded shoulder strap with heavy-duty snaphooks.
