Terra Soft Solutions, Inc. has announced the release of its first book, called “Getting Started with Yellow Dog Linux.” The guide introduces Mac OS users to Terra Soft’s implementation of Linux, which is designed to run on PowerPC-equipped computers.
“For those who are new to Linux or trying Linux on PowerPC for the first time, this book will assist in making the transition from Mac OS to YDL with step-by-step instructions and plenty of screen-shots,” said Terra Soft Solutions.
The book also offers advanced topics for power users and trouble shooting sections as well, sections that Terra Soft said provide readers with the basics of Yellow Dog Linux system administration.
Terra Soft CEO Kai Staats said that his company is proud to release what they hope is the first of many Yellow Dog Linux-related books. “While Linux is very much driven by an online community, sometimes it’s comforting to have a book at your side,” said Staats.
The book includes the Yellow Dog Linux 2.1 install CD. It’s available from the company’s e-store and will soon be available through resellers. The book costs US$49.95.
