If you’re an audio engineer or a musician looking for a multi-tracking and multi-channel playback card to help out your home studio, check out
subsidiary M-Audio. The company has announced the release of its Delta 410 audio card to the US market. The card was previously available to overseas customers only.
The PCI-based Delta 410 is a 4-input, 10-output digital recording/playback card designed to support PCs and Macs that feature a PCI expansion slot. The Delta 410 features two analog inputs and eight analog outputs, plus coaxial S/PDIF I/O. The card provides up to 24-bit data with and supports any sampling rate from 8kHz to 96kHz.
The Delta 410 uses the same drivers supported by other Delta cards, including drivers tailored for Mac OS X, which M-Audio vaunts as extremely low-latency. The Mac drivers support several different versions of ASIO and Sound Manager.
System requirements for the card call for a G3 or G4-equipped Mac; Mac OS 8.6 or higher; 64MB RAM for 48 kHz operation, or 128MB RAM for 96kHz operation. The card costs US$269.95. For more details, visit the Web site above.
