United Developers subsidiary MacPlay today announced that its Mac version of the real time strategy game Sacrifice has gone gold master. The game is now in production and is expected to hit stores just in time for Christmas.
MacPlay president Mark Cottam said that his company is happy to bring Sacrifice to market in time for the holidays. “The game is an exciting and unique experience and we are positive that it will be a hit with action, RPG, and RTS fans alike,” said Cottam.
Sacrifice was originally developed by Shiny Entertainment, the same company behind MDK, a 3D action game released for the Mac several years ago. The game puts you in the role of a Wizard who must appease his chosen God by winning massive battles against the minions of other Gods. To do so, you send troops into battle and harness the forces of nature and the forces beyond nature to do your bidding; by sacrificing souls upon your own Altar, you strengthen yourself and your God.
Sacrifice features both single player and multiplayer modes, and supports Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. System requirements call for a Mac with a PowerPC G3 or better processor running at 350MHz or faster; Mac OS 9.2 or later, or Mac OS 10.0.4 or later; 128MB RAM.
MacPlay also noted that it has a special offer with strategy guide publisher Brady Games — for a limited time, users who buy Sacrifice for US$49.99 will receive a free copy of the Sacrifice Official Strategy Guide, a $19.99 value — the offer includes free ground shipping too. The offer is available through MacPlay’s Web site, and supplies are limited to quantities on hand.
