There’s a new training CD-ROM “Learning UltraDev 4” now available from Lynda.com, a training company for creative professionals.
This self-paced training CD-ROM is targeted to existing Macromedia Dreamweaver users who wants to get up to speed on using UltraDev to create database-driven Web sites. It focuses on the essential UltraDev skills such as connecting to a database; using the Live Objects; inserting, updating and deleting information; creating search pages; creating restricted access areas; user registration; and shopping carts, according to Stacy Greene, marketing coordinator for Lynda.com. The US$99.955 CD-ROM workshop contains over three hours of movie-based tutorials.
Exercise files for all the tutorials also are included, so viewers can watch a movie in one window and work along in the actual application in another. Simon Allardice, who leads the training on the new CD-ROM, is a Web applications developer for corporations throughout the US and Europe. He has over 15 years of experience developing database-backed systems.
Allardce teaches Dreamweaver UltraDev and Flash ActionScript courses for lynda.com at Ojai Digital Arts Center and Stanford University’s New Media Academy. He’s also the Web Graphics Chair for the SIGGRAPH 2002 Conference.
