St. Clair Software has updated Default Folder, their enhancement tool for Open and Save dialogs, to version 3.1.3. Right now it’s for the traditional Mac operating system, but a Mac OS X version is in the works.
Default Folder is a control panel that enhances Open and Save dialog boxes and is fully compatible with Mac OS 9, supporting both Standard File and Navigation Services Open and Save dialogs. Version 3.1.3 brings back the ability to show and hide the Finder when file dialogs appear, as well as fixing a compatibility problem with Eudora and minor issues with several features.
Default Folder 3.1.3 is a free upgrade for existing 3.x users, and for users of version 2.x that registered after Jan. 31, 1998. There’s a US$15 upgrade fee for users who purchased Default Folder before that date. For new users, there’s a $25 registration fee. A free download is available at the product Web site.
