Apple today released iPod Software Updater 1.0.3, an update to the company’s popular FireWire storage device/MP3 player.
Changes made since the last revision include support for additional languages: Brazilian/Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish can now be used with the iPod. Apple also said that MP3 sound quality has been improved with the new update. iPod names up to 255 characters are now supported, as well.
iPod Software Updater 1.0.3 requires Mac OS 9.2.1 or later, or Mac OS X 10.1 or later; a FireWire-equipped Mac; and, of course, an iPod.
The 2.1MB updater can be downloaded from Apple’s Web site at the URL above.
Update: A note posted to Apple’s Web site indicates the update has been removed due to incompatibilities with “blue and white” G3 systems. A new version that addresses the issue will be posted shortly.
