METAMAGE Corp. has announced the release of escapePod 1.0. The freeware AppleScript application has been developed to retrieve songs stored in hidden folders on their iPod, copy them to another disk or to the Mac’s hard drive. escapePod works with Microsoft Internet Explorer.
The developer notes that escapePod does no harm to the iPod since there are no modifications made to the iPod’s disk or directory structure; instead, it simply reads the file path to all the songs.
Minimum system requirements for escapePod 1.0 call for AppleScript 1.6 or later; Internet Explorer 5.0; QuickTime; and Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X (and, obviously, an iPod and a compatible Macintosh).
