Media 100 Inc., announced Thursday it is now shipping its software-based interactive streaming media authoring solution, CineStream.
CineStream, the next evolution of the content creation solution, EditDV, is built on Media 100’s flagship Streaming Media Workflow model, which enables the development of video programs specifically designed for the interactive nature of the Internet.
Available for both Mac and Windows platforms, Media 100 CineStream leverages several key streaming media technologies developed by Media 100 that enable users to capture video content directly from digital video (DV) sources, edit video content with speed and precision, author compelling interactive elements directly into the editing timeline and encode the final product in all major streaming media formats, including QuickTime, Windows Media, RealSystems, and MPEG-1.
A significant feature of Media 100 CineStream is its timeline integration of EventStream authoring tools that enable the creation of interactive streaming content. EventStream enables web designers to embed interactive instructions directly into streaming media programs to trigger highly visual, content-rich capabilities, including graphics, Flash animations, Java applications — all synchronized with the streaming video on the Web site.
EventStream supports direct output of QuickTime interactive streaming media files and direct export to Cleaner 5 for production of interactive streaming media in RealSystems and Windows Media formats — all directly from the timeline.
Mac requirements are a Mac with a 604 processor or better, an available PCI slot, Mac OS 8.6 or later, 128MB of RAM, 16-bit graphics capability, CD-ROM or DVD drive, and a hard drive capable of sustaining a 5MB/second transfer rate.
Media 100 CineStream is now available and is priced at US$499. CineStream is available from the Media 100 Online Store and will be priced at $479. Media 100 CineStream is available to registered users of EditDV or MotoDV for $149.
