Mactella 1.0.3 adds Clip2 Reflector support, more

CXC has released a new version of Mactella, its Gnutella client for the Macintosh. Mactella 1.0.3 can be downloaded from links on CXC’s Web site now.

Mactella supports Gnutella, an open-source file sharing protocol used on multiple computer platforms. Gnutella has appeared as open source alternative to Napster and other similar services.

Mactella 1.0.3 incorporates the following changes:

  • Support for Clip2 Reflector, which allows users with low bandwidth to just connect to a reflector and get most of the advantage of a full network connection (for searches).
  • The ability to continue file transfers that have been interrupted.

    • Mactella 1.0.3 requires a PowerPC-based Mac running Mac OS 8.5 or later.
