Kanakaris Wireless officials say that their movie Web site, CinemaPop, is fully compatible with the ability of the new Titanium PowerBook G4 to output S video directly to TVs, including big screen models.
CinemaPop.com has over 290 free movies and 189 member flicks available for viewing. CinemaWEAR. You’ll need a Power Mac, Mac OS 8 or better, and (unfortunately) Windows Media Player for the Mac.
If you’re viewing CinemaPop.com on a Titanium PowerBook, you may want to check out a product called iTView that turns a TV into a large-screen computer display to allow simultaneous TV/monitor mirroring, and includes TrueScale technology to compress images evenly and clearly for consistent true lines and color. ITView is available from FOCUS Enhancements for US$139. This product also gives an easy method of watching Kanakaris movies over your TV, according to Kanakaris CEO Alex Kanakaris.
“This is another step toward taking the KANWIN — Kanakaris Wireless Independent Network — beyond the confines of traditional Internet devices and into the realm of a very serious alternative to home video stores,” Kanakaris said in a press announcement. “Kanakaris Wireless is no longer an Internet content provider but rather a B-to-B [business-to-business] and B-to-C [business-to-commerce] provider of hosting, bandwidth, encoding, and content which is digitally distributed to the largest possible audience using a variety of platforms and connections.”
Kanakaris said Kanakaris Wireless is presently number one in terms of multiple bandwidth, movie delivery viewable by anyone connected to the Internet, and is a “leader in multiple platform electronic book delivery.” The company believes that there is a worldwide market for traditional movies, music and books delivered wirelessly and that there is a new marketplace that will redefine the movie, music and book industries, he added.
