Strider Software Inc. has released a new version of TypeStyler 3. The new version, TypeStyler 3.7.1, is ready for download from Strider’s Web site.
TypeStyler enables graphic designers to create customized display type for various projects. With TypeStyler, you can bend, twist, distort, arch and stretch type, rotate it, add depth, textures, glows, illumination, soft and cast shadows, adjust opacity, and more. Strider says that millions of different effects are possible. TypeStyler supports various import and export formats, built-in drawing tools, and supports QuickDraw and PostScript output.
TypeStyler 3.7.1 features the following changes: Fixes all the known problems with Mac OS 9.1 It drastically improves high resolution Photoshop, EPS, and TIFF exports Also, TypeStyler’s CMYK EPS exports now work correctly when placed in QuarkXPress, PageMaker, etc., both as composites and as color separations TypeStyler 3.7.1 offers several user interface enhancements, such as Aqua style examples available in the Web menu, and translucent “hot drag” of objects onscreen Numerous bug fixes greatly improve overall stability and usability
TypeStyler carries a suggested retail price of US$295. A 60-day demo is also available for download from the Strider Web site. System requirements call for a PowerPC-based Mac with a 604/120 processor or faster; 24MB RAM; 60MB free hard disk space; 13″ or larger color display with support for 640×480 pixel resolution; and a CD-ROM drive for installation.
