Nominations for the 2001 Maggie awards are out. Winners will be named by the Western Publications Association (WPA) in Los Angeles on April 20. The WPA has represented magazine publishers and companies who interact with the magazine publishing industry for 50 years.
Macworld, the Mac publication and Web site, has broken their in-house record by achieving nominations for nine Maggie awards. The nominations in the consumer category are: Best Computer Magazine, Best On-Line Publication, Best On-line Home Page, Best Series of Articles, Best Signed Editorial, Best Single Editorial Illustration, Best Single Editorial Photograph, and Best Media Kit/Consumer.
“Macworld continues to achieve accolades due to the dedication and hard work of our editorial and design teams,” said Andy Gore, Macworld editor-in-chief, in a press announcement. “We broke our own record with seven nominations in 1999. Nine for the year 2000 is simply overwhelming.”
