Intech Software has released a new version of CD/DVD SpeedTools, its CD/DVD drivers for Macs. The latest version is ready for download from Intech’s Web site.
CD/DVD SpeedTools is a universal driver for CD/DVD drives which offers enhancement performance for data access. The software uses specialized caching technology to speed up the transfer of data from CDs and DVDs, and also provides its own custom CD Audio player application.
CD/DVD SpeedTools version 5.7 offers the following improvements over previous versions:
Added support for more drives with Toast Audio Extraction.
Added ability to individually enable/disable CD-DA for SCSI and ATAPI devices.
Added ability to “force” initialize DVD-RAM cartridges. (See User’s Guide for more details).
Improved write speed for all DVD-RAM devices.
Improved support for Virtual PC.
Corrected issue where crashing under 9.1 might occur when multiple users has been enabled.
Corrected Virtual Game Station support (broken in 5.6).
Corrected “choppy cursor” problem with iTunes and SoundJam.
Added ability to remove CD/DVD SpeedTools System Folder components.
System requirements for CD/DVD SpeedTools call for a Mac Plus or faster (yep, a Mac Plus); System 6.0.4 or higher; 2.5MB RAM; and a SCSI or ATAPI CD, CD-R, CD-RW or DVD drive.
