Game conversion maker Westlake Interactive has announced new milestones for two new projects currently in the works: Centipede and Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2.
“Centipede has reached the beta testing milestone and is in the process of having its ‘bugs’ worked out (sorry, couldn’t resist),” said Westlake.
Centipede is a new update to the twenty-year-old classic arcade game. The game sports 3D graphics and new game modes. The game also sports the “classic” original version in all its glory. It’s already been released for the PC and several video game console systems, and soon it’ll be the Mac’s turn.
Centipede will be published by MacSoft when it’s completed. Westlake hasn’t yet offered a specific release date for Centipede.
Westlake also reported that its conversion of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 has gone beta. THPS2 is the Macintosh conversion of the tremendously popular skateboarding game that has made the rounds on PC and console systems. According to Westlake, the game is in the final few weeks of testing.
“The game is really coming along well, we’ve done compatibility testing on ATI and Nvidia 3D cards and it looks great. Soon you’ll be doing sick moves with the best of them, all on your Mac,” said Westlake.
Coming from Aspyr Media, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 puts you in control of one of a dozen pro skaters including legendary Tony Hawk himself. You can skate at a variety of parks and other venues, and you can even design your own. The game includes single and multiplayer modes and much more — look for it soon.
