Development is ceasing on MacAuthorize, a standalone credit card authorization/processing software system from CyberCash.
Network 1 Financial Corp., a supplier of payment processing systems and Internet payment services, is buying out the company’s operating assets. MacAuthorize is a fatality of the acquisition, as are other products such as DOS, SCO, AIX, and Solaris versions of ICVERIFY, ICVERIFY versions 2.26/2.27. However, the company says that, for now, all users of these versions can continue to get assistance through CyberCash’s Web and fax-on-demand support services.
Originally, CyberCash and Network 1 planned to merge. However, the deal fell through and CyberCash has filed for bankruptcy. If you’re aware of alternatives to MacAuthorize, drop us an e-mail and we’ll pass them along to all MacCentral readers.
