MuchoThumbs Pro — an application that lets you make a page full of thumbnails, create a little image starting from originals, or create a Web page for each image — is now shipping.
MuchoThumbs is designed for Web professionals or semiprofessionals to facilitate the quick creation of Web pages. It’s specifically written to produce thumbnailed web pages and all linked pages, starting from an images folder.
The new pro version improves thumbnail quality and offers a new interface with an image browser, according to MacTech magazine. Descriptions can be typed for each image. There’s a slideshow for viewing images in full-screen. Prefs have been reorganized in a floating window, and default preferences can be changed and saved.
Images file icons can be created automatically. A copyright can be added to images and the originals are backed up. Images can all be resized in a one-click operation by width, height, percentage, and maximum. Each image can be skipped, erased, corrected by contrast and brightness, resized, cropped, rotated, and flipped. Plus, thumbnail dimensions can be defined by width, height, percentage, and maximum.
In MuchThumbs Pro, links to images can open a new window (either HTML or JavaScript based). You can limit the number of thumbnails per page by creating a multipage index. Headers and footers can be added to HTML pages. Content and keywords can be personalized for all the pages with one click. Finally, headers and footers can be personalized.
MuchoThumbs Pro is available in English and French for PowerPC or 68K Macs. QuickTime 4.1 and Mac OS 8.1 or higher are required. The cost is US$30, though a $15 upgrade is available for MuchoThumbs 1.x buyers. You can download the app at the MuchoThumbs Pro Web site.
