Wow, is it already time to be looking ahead to Macworld New York, which will be held at the Jacob Javitz Convention Center July 17-20? Looks like it is, as entries are now being accepted for the 4th Annual Macworld Expo Digital Art Contest.
There are two judged categories — student and non-student. Artwork is reviewed by an independent panel of judges from the digital art, graphic design, education, art gallery and publishing communities. The winning images will premiere at Macworld New York and will also travel across the country as an exhibition to art galleries and universities and to Macworld San Francisco in January 2002. The deadline to enter is June 1.
The grand prize winner receives, along with hardware and software, a trip to either the New York or San Francisco expo, with airfare, hotel, conference and a Super Pass. Digital art and graphic related prizes from the contest’s sponsors — which include Wacom, Corel, Iomega and Xerox — are also distributed to the 30 winning artists.
Artists retain all rights to their artwork. Entries must be original artwork created by the artist on a Mac and the artists must reside in North America. Artwork with photographs or images of a person must have had permission to use the likeness.
