For those lamenting the demise of MacAuthorize, Blair M. Burtan of Northern Lights Productions may have a solution. He switched his merchant account to a Web-based system.
“We use CardService International, which in turn uses LinkPoint as a authorization system,” Burtan told MacCentral. “It seems fairly robust in that a secure Web site is used as a transaction authorization system. It has address verification and account stats. There is also an HTML wrapper API that you can incorporate into a Web site for an e-commerce solution.”
CardService does active, online credit card processing. LinkPoint has an integrated system of point-of-sale (POS) terminals, Internet, and wireless products.
