Nisus Software, Inc. has released an upgrade to its e-mail software for the Mac, Nisus Email 1.5. The new version is ready for download from Nisus’ Web site, both as an upgrade for previous version and as a time-limited demo.
Nisus Email 1.5 sports an easy-to-use interface, integration with popular word processing applications (including, predictably, Nisus Writer), and the ability to work with other applications also.
Version 1.5 of Nisus Email sports the following enhancements:
Fast email and text searching options added.
The Instant Window is now resizable.
Recipient nicknames are autoexpanded.
Customizable attribution option added.
Attachments can now be viewed, added, and deleted in the Quick Message window (and the Queued Emails window).
“MailTo” link support added. Nisus Email can now compose e-mails when you click on a Web site link that starts an e-mail composition.
Global recipient greeting and signature added.
Filtering option added to allow filters to be applied to either incoming or outgoing emails.
All replies and HTML decoded files use the stationery file.
Faster parsing/decoding of emails/attachments.
There’s more, too — visit the Nisus Email Web site for more details.
Nisus Email was developed using REAL Software’s popular REALbasic development environment. The software requires a PowerPC-based MAc; Mac OS 8.0 or greater; 4MB RAM; 5MB available hard disk space. You can download a free 14-day demo — the software costs US$29.95 to register.
