Call it the battle of the OS X spotlights. As we reported yesterday, Elite Computers & Software, an Apple Specialist located across the street from Apple Headquarters in Cupertino, will have ten 26-inch Skytracker searchlights lighting up the sky over their store this Friday to celebrate the launch of Mac OS X.
Well, TechSource, second place winner of Apple’s Best Store Contest, is doing the same blanketing of spotlights on the night of the 23rd. But TechSource, located in Fresno, is also giving away a free iMac at midnight, according to Owner Tom Siechert. The only requirement is that the winner needs to be present to win.
“We are also giving away a free 256MB upgrade with any system purchase that night only, for every product except the PowerBook G4,” Siechert told MacCentral. “We have over six PowerBook G4’s in stock for purchase as we speak. The last time we had such a launch party, we had over 800 people in our store. Plus, we expect the press to do a live broadcast on the 11 o’clock news (as they did last time).”
TechSource is located at 128 W. Nees Avenue. For more info, you can call 559-438-6227.
