Apple has released a package called Mail Import Script to enable Mac OS X users to import mail into the Mail application included with new operating system. Mail is Mac OS X’s built in Internet e-mail application.
The package contains AppleScripts that provide mail import support for e-mail produced by the following applications:
Apple said that the scripts may work with older versions of those applications, as well, but they have not been tested.
Specific instructions for operating the import scripts is provided with the download; Apple noted that the importing can happen either from Mac OS X’s Classic environment or by running Mac OS 9.1. Apple also indicated that the entire process requires a machine with 128 MB of RAM installed; users limited to 64MB will be able to use the scripts but will need reboot into Mac OS 9 to complete the export phase.
