They’re still in the “coming soon” category. Mac OS X drivers for Lexmark’s Z-line of Color Jetprinters — including the Z12, Z22, Z32, Z42 and Z52 — will be available from the company’s Web site “within the coming weeks,” according to Lexmark spokesperson Andy Rohr.
Printer drivers are software programs developed to translate the language of a software application to the “language” of the printer so the two can communicate data. Printer drivers also let users manipulate settings and affect the results of what is printed, such as paper handling, tray selections, and font manipulations.
The Z22, Z32, and Z52 offer print resolutions of up to 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) and USB connectivity. Lexmark’s signature features, available in the Z-line, include: Accu-Feed paper handling system, which helps reduce jams and misfeeds, and quick open-and-load cartridge installation.
You can be notified via e-mail when the OS X drivers are updated. To do so, you’ll need to subscribe to the Lexmark Mailing List.
