Unavailability of Apple’s iMac DV Plus on the online Apple Store has now extended to the high-end iMac DV Special Edition as consumers prepare for what many anticipate will be new iMac models to be introduced soon.
Many MacCentral readers noticed the “temporarily unavailable” tag at the Apple Store last Friday, but the full-featured SE model is now being identified with the same availability as well. When contacted by MacCentral, sales staff at the Apple Store did not know the reason for the unavailability of the two models.

MacCentral has confirmed through a number of Apple dealers that both models are still available directly from Apple with less than a two-day turnaround and are “abundantly” available through national distributors.
Historically, availability of certain models becomes constrained as new models are about to be released. Macworld Expo Tokyo is less than four weeks away and there is much speculation that CEO Steve Jobs will possibly introduce new iMac models during his keynote address on February 22.
