Mac, HP printer rebate extended until February 19

Apple and Hewlett-Packard Co. have extended the US$100 rebate on a iMac or iBook together with a Hewlett-Packard DeskJet 648C, 840C, or 842C color printer until February 19th, MacCentral has learned.

The rebate, which began last November as a holiday promotion, was to have ended on February 4. The rebate requires buyers fill out separate forms for both the Mac computer and HP printer. The offer is good on equipment bought from both the online Apple Store or through authorized Apple dealers and retailers.

The DeskJet 648C is a 6 page per minute (ppm) black and 3 ppm color inkjet printer at 600 dots per inch (dpi) resolution and retails for around $99.

The DeskJet 842C is a 8 ppm black and 5 ppm color inkjet printer at 600 dpi resolution at 600 x 1200 dpi in color and retails for around $120.

The 840C has similar features at 8 ppm in black and 5 ppm in color at a retail price of around $115.
