Script Timer 1.01, a new Mac shareware app from the folks at Apps & More Software Design, is a small background application that lets you schedule the execution of Open Scripting Architecture (OSA) based scripts, such as those created using AppleScript. You can use it to run your scripts at any time on a daily, weekly, weekdays only, monthly, or one time basis as well as at regular intervals ranging from minutes to weeks, according to MacTech magazine.
Script Timer comes with sample scripts including ones to schedule e-mail checking at specific times and to remind you of upcoming appointments. Unlike some other scheduling software, installation of Script Timer has no impact on your System Folder, and it has an extremely small memory footprint, according to Donald Hall, founder and owner of Apps & More.
If you want to take Script Timer for a test drive, go to the Web site, and click on the Shareware and Freeware button. The new utility is US$10 and will run on System 7.5 or later.
Apps & More also have Site Fetcher, a time saving background helper application for the Internet program, Anarchie, that lets you download large Web sites while you are away from your computer and have them waiting to be read off line at your convenience.
