A new version of “A Better Finder Rename” from PublicSpace.net provides more powerful “manual” rename operations. A Better Finder Rename is a contextual menu plug-in for the Mac Finder that lets users rename multiple files.
Version 3.6 introduces multiple character replacements that allow filenames to prepared for export to UNIX or Wintel machines. Mac users who work in a mixed platform environment or who work in Web design will appreciate this feature, according to Fran Reiff of PublicSpace.net.
All PublicSpace.net software is available free to Web masters of Mac or ergonomics-related Web sites. A Better Finder Rename is available as part of the A Better Finder tool series for US$44.95 or separately for $14.95. The new version can be downloaded from the company Web site.
