Formac Electronic Inc. has released a new version of the drivers for its ProTV Stereo PCI card, an expansion card that enables Macs to capture video from cable TV or VCRs and tune in FM radio.
The ProTV Stereo card itself offers coaxial cable input as well as composite video and S-Video, along with stereo audio output. The hardware can capture video using QuickTime at up to 30 frames per second, and supports 4×3, 16×9 and 16×10 movie formats. The ProTV Stereo also includes Teletext, Webtools software and support for Closed Captioning.
According to the documentation released on Formac’s Web site, the new version 2.6.0 drivers fix problems involving ATI graphics cards and G4s; corrects sound problems on G4s and an error message reported by some beige G3 users. Other minor bug fixes were made, as well.
Also, Formac indicates that the new drivers for ProTV now support Formac Studio. Formac Studio is a FireWire-based video editing and digitizing solution for the Mac, featuring a variety of inputs for analog video sources.
