Wireless equipment maker Wireless Online announced Thursday that Doug Solomon, Palm chief strategy officer and former Apple educational executive, has joined the company’s board of directors.
Solomon will remain at Palm at its chief strategy officer responsible for defining corporate strategy as well as to drive Palm’s mergers and acquisition and venture investment efforts. Solomon joined Palm in March of 2000.
Before joining Palm, Solomon served as co-president of Interval Research Corp., a laboratory and new business incubator that was part of Paul Allen’s portfolio of companies. Prior to that, Solomon served 15 years at Apple, where he entered the technology industry as head of the world’s largest educational software business. He was instrumental in raising Apple’s educational market share to more than 50 percent.
Wireless Online is a developer of smart wireless equipment for mobile data devices and fixed broadband.
