has updated FlavorSavers, its screensaver environment for Power Macs. The new version, 2.6, has added 11 new screensaver modules, including the “Hole” series that creates a moving “hole” in your desktop that shows the desktop underneath.
All modules have been updated to draw completely to the edge of the screen, ensuring that all areas of the monitor are refreshed on a more frequent basis, according to the folks at Chaotic. For security reasons, the hot key application switching mechanism is now disabled (if it is active) when a module launches so you cannot switch out of the screensaver. And now any application can now be a FlavorSavers “module.”
FlavorSavers, which is entirely application based, costs US$24.95. According to the folks at Chaotic the price tag includes future updates, technical support, and a “satisfaction guarantee.”
FlavorSavers requires a Power Mac, Mac OS 8.0 or higher and 32MB of RAM. You can grab it at the
FlavorSavers download site.
