At 520 lines of horizontal resolution, the GR-DVP3’s built-in digital still camera can capture crystal-clear still images for output in either XGA mode (1024 x 768 pixels) or VGA mode (640 x 480 pixels).

JVC has made it easier for users to spice up videos with a variety of MP3 Digital Sound Effects. Available on the provided SD Memory Card, these sound effects can be inserted into a recording at any time, either during shooting or afterwards during editing. Among the effects provided are applause, cheering, laughter, explosion, buzzer, and fanfare.
The camera also sports a 16-bit PCM digital stereo audio system that offers a choice of either 2-channel (16-bit linear, 48kHz sampling) or 4-channel (12-bit non-linear, 32kHz sampling) recording, enabling two different stereo soundtracks to be recorded for the same footage.
Also included is a wide range of digital effects, including fades, wipes, and dissolves that can be used to provide smooth transitions between scenes as the user is recording. Among the many effects and transitions available are black & white effect, classic film effect, strobe effect, corner wipe, and shutter wipe.
