Macs are in abundance at this week’s PMA (Photo Marketing Conference) conference in Orlando, FL, according to attendee and MacCentral reader, Craig Milburn.
“There are several hundred Macs, lots of Cubes, and 22-inch LCD monitors in every major booth (Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, etc.),” he said. “I only saw maybe five Wintel machines.”
Meanwhile, last weekend Bernardo Urquieta visited Disney’s California Adventure Park in southern California and was surprised to see the park employees using Newtons, Apple’s late, lamented handheld systems.
“I asked why do they use a Newton,” he said. “Their answer: ‘Nothing can do the job better.'”
Finally, just in case you doubt that adventurers use Apple products (especially PowerBooks) check out the Your Expedition Web site. In one of the videos they actually say aloud, “Thank you, Apple,” according to Benjamin F. DeClue III.
(If you’ve sent us an item for our Famous People column, please be patient. It will appear, but we’ve been swamped with entries. If you know of a famous person using the Mac, send it to Yours Truly at dsellers@maccentral.com. If you want credit for your “Mac spotting,” be sure to include your full name.)
