After a year long break, Clixsounds, the source for free Mac sounds, has returned. So say hello to Clixsounds.com 3.0, a completely overhauled Web site that’s being kicked off with a special promotion.
As part of the “Launch Special”, you can get YO!,The Alert Sound Randomizer, the Hystereo Sounds CD, and a free subscription to the SoundList for US$49.95 (normally all this would cost you $85). YO! is software that allows you to install hundreds of sounds at once to be played randomly as your system alert sound. SoundList is a service designed to provide high-quality Pro-Macintosh sound files via e-mail.
Clixsounds is giving away two sets of Cozo speakers — one “grape” and one “lime.” You can enter the give-away by sending an e-mail to audiofile@clixsounds.com with the words “subscribe audiofile” in the body of the message. Or go to Clixsounds’ Web site.
Now that Clixsounds is back, you can find a new sound for free downloads each week on their new Web site. The goodies will fall into such categories as StartUp Sounds, Alert Sounds, ShutDown Sounds, Email Sounds, Collectibles, and more. And you can hear the sounds before you download them. Go to the respective sound’s page and click on the “Sample” button. Plus, the new Web site features a “Sound Board” forum that lets you sound off on anything sound-related.
The all new Clixsounds.com 3.0 is hosted by MacDock, a Mac Web hosting company. The site is also made possible by The MacSurfshop.
