has updated its anti-virus utility,
vScan, with additional virus support and various bug fixes.
Version 1.8 updates the virus database which now scans for over 200 of the most frequently occurring PC-specific viruses and over 70 Mac-specific viruses. vScan will detect all strains of the AutoStart 9805 Worm plus all strains of the SevenDust virus as well as the most current trojan horse files circulating in the Mac community.
In addition, there are numerous fixes and a new preference setting. 75 percent of the code for vScan has been re-written, the company said. Version 1.8 is a free upgrade for registered users. The complete product for new users is US$30.
