Interactive Media Corp.
has announced the release of its 81GB portable hard drive, called the KangaruPortable. The company claims that the new drive is the largest multi-cable portable storage device available on the market today.
The KangaruPortable drive features a special proprietary interface that can be connected through FireWire, USB, Parallel, and Cardbus/PCMCIA connections. Interactive Media Corp explained that the KangaruPortable system is designed to connect to any PC or Mac simply by switching to the appropriate cable.
The 81GB KangaruPortable hard drive is available direct from Interactive Media Corp. for US$499.95. Other capacities are also available. The drive itself ships with an external power supply, and users are required to purchase the KangaruCable they require. Different cables are available ranging in price from $49.95 – $79.95, depending on the interface.
Interactive Media Corp. makes a variety of data storage products, including hard drives, CD mastering systems, and MP3 players.
