Mac game conversion developer Westlake Interactive is working fast and furiously on a multiplayer patch to their Macintosh conversion of Deus Ex, the popular 3D role-playing game released last year by Aspyr Media. According to Westlake, the patch to the game is now in beta testing.
“… we’re hoping for a fairly quick test period,” noted Westlake president Mark Adams in a recent e-mail. “All of the latest PC multiplayer code is running the Mac, and we’ve played several test games between Macs and PC’s, with both Macs and PCs as servers.”
Westlake indicates that the multiplayer patch is expected to be ready for general public consumption in a couple of weeks. Ion Storm, the game’s original developer, and Eidos, the PC version’s publisher, must approval the Mac patch for general release, however, so that may cause a slight delay.
And before you ask Westlake, they’ve already confirmed that the beta test list is full, so please don’t e-mail them asking to be on it.
