will release a cross platform version of LiveStage Professional, its QuickTime authoring environment software, this spring. The application allows users to apply interactivity with special effects and professional tweening to all the media types supported by QuickTime in addition to the enhanced wired sprite capability.
The new version of LiveStage Professional 3 utilizing QuickTime 5 will operate on Windows 98/NT/2000/ME and a corresponding upgrade for the current Macintosh version will also include support for the new Apple OS X operating system scheduled to ship on March 24. Both the Windows and Macintosh versions of LiveStage Professional 3 are scheduled to be available this spring, according to David Dicaire, CEO and president of Totally Hip.
“LiveStage Professional 3 for Windows and Macintosh will support the new QuickTime 5 features that include next generation advances in digital media technology,” Dicaire said. “QuickTime continues to be a leading method of deploying cross-platform broadband content, highly interactive applications and video for the Web. Some of the new features that LiveStage Professional 3 will include are:
Interactive media skins that allow for delivery of custom interfaces;
Flash 4 support for integrating Flash with all other QuickTime media including video;
XML support for the dynamic creation of content or movies;
Server side connectivity for database support and movie generation;
Over seventy new wired actions to be added to the QScript scripting language;
Upgraded users manual including reference guide, tutorials and sample projects.

Suggested retail pricing for LiveStage Professional 3 will be US $899.95. Current registered users of LiveStage Professional 2 will be able to upgrade to version 3 for $199.95 or purchase an additional Windows license for $499.95.
