CharisMac has announced an extension to its special upgrade price for Discribe 4.0. Discribe is a CD mastering application for Mac OS. Until midnight on Friday, March 9, users of competitive products and older versions can upgrade to Discribe version 4.0 for US$29.96.
Discribe 4.0 features a new user interface that lets users burn CDs in as little as two mouse clicks, according to CharisMac. The software sports new features like direct CD-to-CD copy, drag and drop MP3 support, and support for over 200 FireWire, USB, SCSI or ATAPI CD recorders.
After March 9, the upgrade price will return to the standard price of $39.95.
If you’re interested in kicking CharisMac’s tires before buying it, you can download a demo version of the software (the demo limits users to burning five CD-Rs).
System requirements call for a Quadra 650 or better; System 7.5.3 or higher; 8MB RAM or more, and a hard drive that can sustain the required data transfer rates of a CD recorder.
Discribe 4.0 carries a suggested retail price of $99.95.
Charismac’s other products include Anubis, a hard disk formatting and maintenance utility; and Charismac RAID, a software-based RAID solution.
